Show cause why you faked an assassination attempt on your life to INFLUENCE the Filipino people that Martial Law was justified.

Show cause why you masterminded more than one coup attempt against the government of Pres. Cory Aquino, using the thug-for-hire Gregorio Honasan.

Show cause why you are now threatening to cite Harvey Keh in contempt for trying to exercise his right to expose corruption in high places.

But do not worry; you will not be threatened with contempt because you are already contemptible.

As for Senators Miriam Santiago, Bongbong Marcos and Jinggoy Estrada, what gives you the right to berate and insult Harvey Keh, a citizen of the Republic of the Philippines, who also pays your salaries? He is a man seeking to uphold good governance. And even if you think he is not doing a good job at it, I would rather respect a man who is haphazardly upholding good governance than respect those in high places who are perfectly arrogant, simply because they have a title before their names.

To Bongbong Marcos, before brandishing your haughtiness and opening your mouth on the Senate floor, return first the millions your family stole during your father´s hated regime!

Even the senator-judges are getting impatient. This is good, because they are showing that they can speed up the trial. What many of them want is to see Corona take the stand. This is also the sentiment of a majority of Filipinos.

But the defense will not allow their client to do so on the grounds that he might incriminate himself. What?!!! In saying this are they inadvertently insinuating that Corona is indeed guilty of something? Yet, the more they avoid putting Corona on the stand, the more they are affirming what many Filipinos believe: Corona has something to hide.

So now the defense wants again to call Justice Sec. De Lima to the stand as a hostile witness. What they will probably try to do is again confuse the impeachment trial by asking De Lima irrelevant questions. This they tried to do today by calling witnesses to verify irrelevant documents. Even presiding Senator-Judge Juan Ponce Enrile berated the defense for such tactics.

In a Facebook group I belong, this keen observation was posted: The prosecution had logic but lacked trial techniques. On the other hand the defense has sharp trial techniques but lacks logic.

How true!

There’s really nothing wrong with PNoy appointing his own justices. That is the prerogative of every sitting President. It makes governing easier. It becomes wrong under the following circumstances:

1. When the appointed justices are “midnight appointees.”
2. When the justices favor a person over the Constitution.
3. If PNoy commits a crime and expects the justices to get him off the hook.
4. When the Chief Justice begins carrying an umbrella over a relative (perhaps a wife?) of the President.

Now, PNoy’s detractors are calling him a despot and hungry for power.

A despot? Has he:

1. Dissolved Congress and the Supreme Court?
2. Closed down media establishments?
3. Imprisoned media personalities and his critics?
4. Had people kidnapped or killed?
5. Cheated massively in the elections?
6. Declared martial law?

I’m not a PNoy fan, but he is the President. Thus, as a Filipino I’ll continue to give him the benefit of the doubt and support his governance as best as I can.

If somehow he turns out to be a criminal or despot or both, then he should taste the same medicine as his government is giving Gloria Arroyo and Renato Corona.

Lauro Vizconde lost more and in the most tragic way. I am quite sure, in his home, he is reminded not only of one loss but three. He continues to live alone, albeit in the company of house help who keep to themselves.

It’s easy to continue to hate Hubert Webb when you see pictures of him flashing a wide grin being surrounded by his family. The Supreme Court may have freed him, but this doesn’t mean he’s innocent. He was freed because the prosecution did a piss-poor job. He will now merrily spend Christmas with his parents and four siblings.

Lauro Vizconde will most likely spend Christmas alone still seeking justice for the murder of his family.

Now, Hubert Webb along with his co-accused are asking payback from the woman whose testimony sent them to jail 15 years ago. They want to send her to jail for giving false testimony. Perhaps it would be better for them to spend their energy and money in helping to find the murderers of the Vizconde family.

Maybe they don’t want to do this. The trail might lead back to them.

Lauro Vizconde, the husband who was out of the country during that time, is now claiming that an associate justice is lobbying his peers for acquittal. Meanwhile, supporters of Hubert Webb have put up a Facebook page declaring his innocence.

It is good that the Supreme Court had asked for more time to review the case. If Hubert Webb and his co-accused are guilty, then by all means they deserve a life sentence many times over. But if they are innocent, there is nothing more terrible than sending the innocent to prison.

We sympathize with Lauro Vizconde. It is difficult to comprehend the pain he went through in discovering the murder of his family. Yet, it would be equally painful for the Webb family if Hubert where to go to prison an innocent man.

Thus, the Supreme Court must be given the trust to deliberate this sensitive case without trying to preempt a decision. Emotions must be kept at bay and public utterances be stilled.

Otherwise we may not see justice but the massacre of truth.

Multi-millionaire-guess-where-he-got-his-millions Mikey Arroyo is now officially party-list representative of marginalized security guards.

This even if the Supreme Court said in Banat v. Comelec that "it is not necessary that the party-list organization’s nominee ‘wallow in poverty, destitution and infirmity’ as there is no financial status required in the law. It is enough that the nominee of the sectoral party/organization/coalition belongs to the marginalized and underrepresented sectors, that is, if the nominee represents the fisherfolk, he or she must be a fisherfolk, or if the nominee represents the senior citizens, he or she must be a senior citizen."

So, pray tell me, when was Mikey Arroyo ever a security guard?

Yet, Comelec commissioner Nicodemo Ferrer and four of his ilk chose to disregard the Supreme Court ruling and approved of Mikey Arroyo’s representation. Conclusion: he must have received "millions" of other reasons to be stupid.

When you’re bribed, it’s easy to turn a deaf ear to criticisms. Who cares what people are saying when you can become millions of pesos richer?

Editors, columnists, constitutionalists and the ordinary man in the street have spoken against this irregularity, but Ferrer has turned a deaf ear and is probably laughing all the way to the bank.

Meanwhile, guess who’s pointing a middle finger at the Filipinos?

I use the word, idiotic, kindly. For how would you describe their latest tirade against the Department of Education’s push for sex education in the elementary levels?

The DOE is implementing sex education primarily to combat unwanted pregnancy, STD and the dreaded HIV/AIDS, among other reasons. They have successfully pilot-tested the curriculum, which was developed by teachers, some of whom are parents.

Yet Kapatiran, for reasons that strain even the imagination, has filed an injunction against the DOE to prevent them from implementing the curriculum. They claim that the curriculum will turn students into raving sex maniacs.

Okay, so that’s not really what they stated, but it’s close to it: “For being baseless, DepEd Memo 261 is unreasonable and arbitrary unless DepEd is candid enough to admit that its real agenda is to transform the sex behavior of our kids towards being sex-obsessed.”

Kapatiran then goes on to suggest that sex education should remain as a family affair taught by parents.

Hey, why don’t we just scrap the whole educational system and let home schooling be the norm? But we can’t do this because parents of public school students precisely send their children to school so they can be educated in ways that go beyond their capabilities. And this should include sex education.

So parents have to trust our educational system. The DOE then has a responsibility to uphold that trust. I can’t imagine our educational authorities meeting so they can “transform the sex behavior of our kids towards being sex-obsessed.”

The DOE develops education not pornography. What will turn kids into being sex-obsessed are our current TV fare where noontime shows display gyrating scantily-clad dancers and prime time programming suggest teens falling in love and their parents engaging in adultery.

Maybe Kapatiran members should stop watching TV. It’s transforming them into being sex-obsessed and not education-oriented.

What was Revillame’s beef? Sucaldito questioned in his radio program why Wowowee had to have contestants with average school grades of 75%-79%. It was the last straw for Revillame of a series of negative commentaries by Sucaldito.

Still, Revillame could have complained privately to his network bosses about Sucaldito. To publicly broadcast his anger and to threaten to resign was the height of arrogance. In his tirade the national sleaze even mentioned that his program was making a lot of money for ABS-CBN and that they were not the only channel.

If I were his boss I would have accepted his resignation or fired him on the spot. But I’m not ABS-CBN. I like to think I have more propriety than them.

ABS-CBN has shown time and again that they have no scruples when it comes to money. They could have fired Revillame from Wowowee may times before, but they didn’t and they won’t. He makes millions for them, which is why Revillame has turned into an arrogant monster.

What I predict ABS-CBN will do is try to pacify Revillame and Sucaldito. They won’t fire Sucaldito, because they might look like mindless tyrants. But they’ll definitely keep Revillame.

Ako ang simula ng pagbabago (I am the start of change) is the slogan of ABS-CBN.

It makes them look like the biggest, most blatant hypocrites in the land.

Yet, Villar’s Nationalista Party is the one that released a bogus report purportedly coming from Ateneo de Manila University attesting that Noynoy has an unstable mind. And Villar kept on harping about it even if the report was proven to be false.

Then there was a rumor –it’s not difficult to quess who started it– that Aquino had an epilepsy attack during one of his campaign rallies.

The latest Villar gimmick was to allow media to interview his ailing 86 year old mother who, in front of cameras, began shedding tears and saying she was hurt by all the bad publicity her son was getting. Then the cameras showed Villar’s siblings angry at all and sundry for what their brother is going through.

The only person the Villar exended family should blame is Manny Villar himself. When you prop up your campaign with lies, you will be found out. This is simply what had happened. Never mind the monicker, “Villaroyo,” that was tagged on Villar. That may have been uncalled for and could have been dismissed easily. But when you fail to face questions from fellow senators about a suspicious transaction, you’re hiding something. When you exploit the death of a brother and now an ailing mother to try to save a campaign, you’re shameless. These smack of desperation.

Now there are reports emerging of other questionable Villar dealings. Villar has denied them. The thing is, when you start the ball rolling with lies, no one is going to believe you anymore even if you’re telling the truth.

So Villar knows he is losing his grip on his dream of becoming the next President of the republic.

The problem is, he’s getting desperate and desperate men can become dangerous.
