Doubt no more!

Multi-millionaire-guess-where-he-got-his-millions Mikey Arroyo is now officially party-list representative of marginalized security guards.

This even if the Supreme Court said in Banat v. Comelec that "it is not necessary that the party-list organization’s nominee ‘wallow in poverty, destitution and infirmity’ as there is no financial status required in the law. It is enough that the nominee of the sectoral party/organization/coalition belongs to the marginalized and underrepresented sectors, that is, if the nominee represents the fisherfolk, he or she must be a fisherfolk, or if the nominee represents the senior citizens, he or she must be a senior citizen."

So, pray tell me, when was Mikey Arroyo ever a security guard?

Yet, Comelec commissioner Nicodemo Ferrer and four of his ilk chose to disregard the Supreme Court ruling and approved of Mikey Arroyo’s representation. Conclusion: he must have received "millions" of other reasons to be stupid.

When you’re bribed, it’s easy to turn a deaf ear to criticisms. Who cares what people are saying when you can become millions of pesos richer?

Editors, columnists, constitutionalists and the ordinary man in the street have spoken against this irregularity, but Ferrer has turned a deaf ear and is probably laughing all the way to the bank.

Meanwhile, guess who’s pointing a middle finger at the Filipinos?

One reason why I couldn’t even consider JC de los Reyes in the last presidential election is that I believed he would be inept as President of the Republic and that he would mindlessly uphold his Kapatiran party’s policies no matter how idiotic they are.

I use the word, idiotic, kindly. For how would you describe their latest tirade against the Department of Education’s push for sex education in the elementary levels?

The DOE is implementing sex education primarily to combat unwanted pregnancy, STD and the dreaded HIV/AIDS, among other reasons. They have successfully pilot-tested the curriculum, which was developed by teachers, some of whom are parents.

Yet Kapatiran, for reasons that strain even the imagination, has filed an injunction against the DOE to prevent them from implementing the curriculum. They claim that the curriculum will turn students into raving sex maniacs.

Okay, so that’s not really what they stated, but it’s close to it: “For being baseless, DepEd Memo 261 is unreasonable and arbitrary unless DepEd is candid enough to admit that its real agenda is to transform the sex behavior of our kids towards being sex-obsessed.”

Kapatiran then goes on to suggest that sex education should remain as a family affair taught by parents.

Hey, why don’t we just scrap the whole educational system and let home schooling be the norm? But we can’t do this because parents of public school students precisely send their children to school so they can be educated in ways that go beyond their capabilities. And this should include sex education.

So parents have to trust our educational system. The DOE then has a responsibility to uphold that trust. I can’t imagine our educational authorities meeting so they can “transform the sex behavior of our kids towards being sex-obsessed.”

The DOE develops education not pornography. What will turn kids into being sex-obsessed are our current TV fare where noontime shows display gyrating scantily-clad dancers and prime time programming suggest teens falling in love and their parents engaging in adultery.

Maybe Kapatiran members should stop watching TV. It’s transforming them into being sex-obsessed and not education-oriented.

In his latest tirade, National Sleaze Willie Revillame challenged his network, ABS-CBN, to fire Jobert Sucaldito (who belongs to the same network) or he’ll resign from hosting Wowowee. He did this on live TV during his show (you’ll find a Youtube link below).

What was Revillame’s beef? Sucaldito questioned in his radio program why Wowowee had to have contestants with average school grades of 75%-79%. It was the last straw for Revillame of a series of negative commentaries by Sucaldito.

Still, Revillame could have complained privately to his network bosses about Sucaldito. To publicly broadcast his anger and to threaten to resign was the height of arrogance. In his tirade the national sleaze even mentioned that his program was making a lot of money for ABS-CBN and that they were not the only channel.

If I were his boss I would have accepted his resignation or fired him on the spot. But I’m not ABS-CBN. I like to think I have more propriety than them.

ABS-CBN has shown time and again that they have no scruples when it comes to money. They could have fired Revillame from Wowowee may times before, but they didn’t and they won’t. He makes millions for them, which is why Revillame has turned into an arrogant monster.

What I predict ABS-CBN will do is try to pacify Revillame and Sucaldito. They won’t fire Sucaldito, because they might look like mindless tyrants. But they’ll definitely keep Revillame.

Ako ang simula ng pagbabago (I am the start of change) is the slogan of ABS-CBN.

It makes them look like the biggest, most blatant hypocrites in the land.

The link to the video of that tirade (listen to all the idiots applauding Revillame’s statements):

Manny Villar has said a few times that the camp of Sen. Noynoy Aquino is desperate. I wonder why he keeps saying that when Noynoy is ahead in surveys. If you’re ahead, what is there to be desperate about?

Yet, Villar’s Nationalista Party is the one that released a bogus report purportedly coming from Ateneo de Manila University attesting that Noynoy has an unstable mind. And Villar kept on harping about it even if the report was proven to be false.

Then there was a rumor –it’s not difficult to quess who started it– that Aquino had an epilepsy attack during one of his campaign rallies.

The latest Villar gimmick was to allow media to interview his ailing 86 year old mother who, in front of cameras, began shedding tears and saying she was hurt by all the bad publicity her son was getting. Then the cameras showed Villar’s siblings angry at all and sundry for what their brother is going through.

Susmaryosep!

The only person the Villar exended family should blame is Manny Villar himself. When you prop up your campaign with lies, you will be found out. This is simply what had happened. Never mind the monicker, “Villaroyo,” that was tagged on Villar. That may have been uncalled for and could have been dismissed easily. But when you fail to face questions from fellow senators about a suspicious transaction, you’re hiding something. When you exploit the death of a brother and now an ailing mother to try to save a campaign, you’re shameless. These smack of desperation.

Now there are reports emerging of other questionable Villar dealings. Villar has denied them. The thing is, when you start the ball rolling with lies, no one is going to believe you anymore even if you’re telling the truth.

So Villar knows he is losing his grip on his dream of becoming the next President of the republic.

The problem is, he’s getting desperate and desperate men can become dangerous.

On national TV news the other night, Willie Revillame was seen ordering camera men to climb on stage during a rally of Manny "Wysiwyg" Villar and train their cameras at the crowd to show the world that "hundreds of thousands" of people were flocking to Villar’s rally.

The point Revillame was trying to make was that the media was not being truthful in its crowd estimates when it came to Villar’s campaign sorties. Later, news clips showed Revillame leaving the rally site surrounded by what appeared to be bodyguards, looking like a big shot who had all the influence in the world.

I didn’t know whether to hate him some more or just laugh.

I decided to laugh.

For one thing, the point he was trying to make was stupid. Who cares how many attend Villar’s rallies? Besides, when you’re as delusive as the master you serve, 1,000 can look like 10,000, 5,000 can look like 50,000, and so on and so forth. The point is, it’s not how many are attending Villar’s rallies but how many are not.

The recent surveys of SWS and Pulse Asia reveal it: Villar’s ratings are plummeting, all due to the fact that Villar’s true colors are showing. He is lying through his teeth when he bandies about that he was born and grew up poor.

If Villar’s campaign is all about lies, what do you think his presidency will be like if he wins? But here’s what makes shivers run up and down my spine. If he wins what role will he give the national sleaze, Willie Revillame, in his government?

Speculate and weep.

The sanctimonious Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., otherwise known as Bongbong, talks as if he’s the cleanest senatorial aspirant in the ticket of Manny "Wysiwyg" Villar. And he’s banking on voters who have never known the repressive regime of his father and namesake.

So let me make it clear. The conjugal dictatorship of Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos, the parents of Bongbong, was responsible for hundreds of people killed or missing during its reign. It is responsible for millions of dollars siphoned off the Philippine treasury, earning for this country the appellation, "Sickman of Asia."

And where was Bongbong during this time? Enjoying the perks and privileges of a virtual prince. Did he go against the corruption of his father? Did he speak out against the human rights abuses of the Marcos tyranny?

No! In fact he fled the country, fearing for his life along with his disgraced family.

So, how dare he opens his mouth and speak as if he was Mr. Clean. He was even quoted as saying that People Power 1 failed. If it indeed failed, its failure was its inability to bring Bongbong and his ilk to prison.

Bongbong should be thankful. And he should show his thankfulness by letting the Filipinos know that he is sorry for what his family did when they were in power, desist from running for public office and just disappear into the night.

One less Marcos is one less possible dictator and thief.

The latest Social Weather Station (SWS) survey showed Manny "Wysiswg" Villar again trailing Noynoy Aquino by 9 points. Villar attributes the slide to a demolition job by his opponents in that reports are surfacing that Villar’s proclamation that he came from the poor is all myth.

Villar insists that his family was really poor. He insists that his brother died because they had no money. Yet reports have it that Villar’s brother died in FEU hospital in 1962, when FEU could have been compared then with today’s Makati Medical hospital or St. Luke’s. His remains were then taken care by Funeraria Paz, a funeral house then and now not a choice of the poor.

But these are all beside the point. It’s not just the big lie that Villar wants to perpetuate that he was poor. It’s his unwillingness to answer questions from his Senate colleagues about his involvement in the C5 controversy. It’s his obscene campaign spending (I ask again, why is he so desperate to win the presidency?). It’s his association with political whore, Loren Legarda, whose ambition is so obvious. Last but not the least, personally, it’s his association with the National Sleaze, Willie Revillame.

There’s still one point that Villar hasn’t clarified: his studying in private schools. If his family was really poor, how could his parents have afforded enrolling him and his siblings in private schools? Will Manny Villar justify this by saying his father also borrowed money?

Hard to believe. Like all that Villar is saying. They’re all hard to believe!

He’s a liar, plain and simple. Like GMA. Do you want this man President of the Republic of the Philippines?

I shudder at the thought.

It took a while before I stopped laughing. It’s the best comic sequence so far this year.

There was airhead Kris Aquino teasing fellow airhead Ruffa Gutierrez about leaving "The Buzz," in particular, and ABS-CBN in general, which prompted Ruffa to walk-out of the show.

Kris claimed she had no intention of hurting Ruffa. I believe her. She simply doesn’t have the finesse nor brains not to be tactless. But get the reaction of Ruffa: she called on the Filipinos not to vote for Noynoy Aquino, the brother of Kris, who’s running for President.

What had Noynoy have to do with their quarrel? Nothing. It’s just that Ruffa and Kris have more in common than they know: the lack of brains.

Enter the mother of all airheads, Annabelle Rama, Ruffa’s mother. She gets into the fray by claiming Kris was the reason for Ruffa’s decision to leave ABS-CBN. Then she too called for the Filipinos not to vote for Noynoy.

Noynoy, meanwhile, is wondering how his name got into the quarrel.

Simple. In a meeting of mindlessness, anything can happen.

How about an encore, girls?

Manny "Wysiwyg" Villar was caught on camera handing money to children in a market. This clearly violates election laws that prohibit the giving of money to others. Villar’s cabal of liars, however, went into action immediately and said that Villar was only being compassionate.

I stated in a previous post that a good number of the Philippine electorate is comprised of idiots, but not all. Villar, however, seems to believe he can fool everyone.

In another news item, Villar and his team (including Loren Legarda who does nothing but pose for the cameras) campaigned inside a military camp by conducting a walk of unity, which again violates election laws. Villar said cockily it wasn’t a campaign and added that he would campaign where there were a lot of people.

Yet he was walking hand-in-hand with his party’s election bets. Sure, they were not shouting, "vote for us," but you do not have to say anything to make a campaign statement. Again Villar trying to hoodwink Filipinos.

Apparently, because Villar got away with the C5 anomaly, he thinks he can get away with anything. Such is the man.

Villar the most trusted presidential candidate?

That’s not what Filipinos are saying. That’s what Villar’s money is saying.

Personally, the man’s personality stinks!

Manny "Wysiwyg" Villar and his lapdogs, such as the totoy-looking Gilbert Remulla, are fawning all over themselves for the latest Pulse Asia survey that showed Villar as the most trusted Presidential candidate.

No wonder why. There are two reasons for this.

One, Villar’s over-spending is now causing a dent in the other candidates’ numbers, especially that of his closest rival, Noynoy Aquino.

The other reason is that a good percentage of the Philippine electorate is comprised of idiots who tend to be bedazzled by Villar’s sleek ads instead of looking deeply into his character.

Villar’s millions has garnered endorsers in the likes of masa-appealing celebrities such as Dolphy, Michael V and Sarah Geronimo, who probably don’t care much about what’s coming out of their mouths than what’s coming into their pockets.

Villar’s ads about helping the poor are helping his candidacy tremendously. He claims that the poor, like he once was, should be given a chance to become President. Yet, the core of his hypocrisy lies in the fact that he’s not running as a poor man, but as a filthy-rich individual who’s already spent more than a billion pesos in his campaign.

We ask again, why is he so desperate to become President?

In one of his ads, he claims that if he wanted to become rich he would have remained in business. Yet, Marcos, GMA and her family have proved that it is more lucrative to be in power. The only people Villar is fooling are fools.

Villar’s campaign is made up of smokescreen, lies and illusion. He’ll be better off as a magician than President of the Republic of the Philippines.
