Multi-millionaire-guess-where-he-got-his-millions Mikey Arroyo is now officially party-list representative of marginalized security guards.

This even if the Supreme Court said in Banat v. Comelec that "it is not necessary that the party-list organization’s nominee ‘wallow in poverty, destitution and infirmity’ as there is no financial status required in the law. It is enough that the nominee of the sectoral party/organization/coalition belongs to the marginalized and underrepresented sectors, that is, if the nominee represents the fisherfolk, he or she must be a fisherfolk, or if the nominee represents the senior citizens, he or she must be a senior citizen."

So, pray tell me, when was Mikey Arroyo ever a security guard?

Yet, Comelec commissioner Nicodemo Ferrer and four of his ilk chose to disregard the Supreme Court ruling and approved of Mikey Arroyo’s representation. Conclusion: he must have received "millions" of other reasons to be stupid.

When you’re bribed, it’s easy to turn a deaf ear to criticisms. Who cares what people are saying when you can become millions of pesos richer?

Editors, columnists, constitutionalists and the ordinary man in the street have spoken against this irregularity, but Ferrer has turned a deaf ear and is probably laughing all the way to the bank.

Meanwhile, guess who’s pointing a middle finger at the Filipinos?

What was Revillame’s beef? Sucaldito questioned in his radio program why Wowowee had to have contestants with average school grades of 75%-79%. It was the last straw for Revillame of a series of negative commentaries by Sucaldito.

Still, Revillame could have complained privately to his network bosses about Sucaldito. To publicly broadcast his anger and to threaten to resign was the height of arrogance. In his tirade the national sleaze even mentioned that his program was making a lot of money for ABS-CBN and that they were not the only channel.

If I were his boss I would have accepted his resignation or fired him on the spot. But I’m not ABS-CBN. I like to think I have more propriety than them.

ABS-CBN has shown time and again that they have no scruples when it comes to money. They could have fired Revillame from Wowowee may times before, but they didn’t and they won’t. He makes millions for them, which is why Revillame has turned into an arrogant monster.

What I predict ABS-CBN will do is try to pacify Revillame and Sucaldito. They won’t fire Sucaldito, because they might look like mindless tyrants. But they’ll definitely keep Revillame.

Ako ang simula ng pagbabago (I am the start of change) is the slogan of ABS-CBN.

It makes them look like the biggest, most blatant hypocrites in the land.

This morning in the ABS-CBN program, "Umagang Kay Ganda," Estrada sought to defend himself by saying that Lacson was lying and fooling the people. This is how Estrada endears himself to the masses. He mentions "taumbayan" (the people) several times and then expresses love for the poor. He especially does this best when in front of a camera, since this is his medium. He then makes it seem he is innocent of the charges that sent him to jail.

Lest we quickly forget recent history, we must be reminded that Estrada’s ouster from the presidency was triggered by the revelations of a jueteng lord in the name of Luis "Chavit" Singson. Singson started to sing primarily because of jueteng territorial dispute and he feared Estrada was going to have him killed.

So was Lacson telling the truth? It’s hard to imagine he wasn’t. There’s talk that Lacson himself had his own shenanigans when he was PNP Chief. So, like Singson before him, here is another case of a thief exposing another thief.

After his privilege speech, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada was livid with anger. Of course! When you expose the father, you expose the son. In taking the Senate floor, he promised that he had his own revelations about Lacson.

There and then you can see the character of an Estrada. Jinggoy is not going to dispute Lacson’s revelations. Instead he’s going to throw more dirty linen on the Senate floor. How mature!

Meanwhile, I’m anticipating this and have already bought my popcorn.

Such is the case with the news about the eating splurges of GMA and her band of sycophants when they were in the U.S. When the news broke, Malacañang didn’t know how to answer. They hemmed and the hawed. When they couldn’t stand the heat, they sent in their attack dog, Atty. Romulo Makalintal.

So what does Makalintal do? He attacks media and blames them for the whole brouhaha. He calls them immoral, pointing out that they accept ads from politicians and earn vast amounts of money.

Makalintal embodies the worst in lawyers. He is the best argument on why lawyers are the butt of bar jokes. If it’s true lawyers don’t go to heaven, Makalintal leads the pack in forging a way to hell.

Other than that, he’s an example of the stupid choices GMA makes in hiring all the President’s men.

I’m not going to use my blog to challenge the inane arguments of Makalintal. Other media outlets are already doing a fine job at that, not because they have good writers, but because Malacañang’s attack dog is simply barking and baring fangs without any semblance of intelligence.

If GMA wanted to prove again that she should step down next year, there was no better way to do it than by unleashing Makalintal.

Oh, and what about the Chesire cat? While Makalintal was haranguing media about morality, beside him was Press Sec. Cerge Remonde grinning from ear to ear. Like the Chesire cat of Alice in Wonderland.

Come to think of it, we are in Wonderland. We’re wondering why GMA is still president.

In one of those videos you can catch in youtube, which I’m featuring below, Revillame had as contestants aspiring comedians. Yet, instead of encouraging or helping them in their careers (doesn’t ABS-CBN like to brandish Revillame as a bleeding heart?), he insults them one by one.

And that’s how Revillame gets his laughter, by insulting his fellow Filipinos. The tragedy is that these contestants will allow themselves to be insulted in the hope that they’ll win huge amounts of moolah. It becomes doubly tragic when they don’t win.

Do the big bosses of ABS-CBN know about this? They would be stupid not to. Do they tolerate it? Of course! Because it earns them huge amounts of moolah as well.

In the aftermath of the infamous Wowowee stampede where over 70 people died, ABS-CBN top brass Charo Concio sought to justify the label that Wowowee was a mendicancy-promoting show by saying that a percentage of Wowowee earnings go to charity. In other words, the ends justify the means. So what if they exploit and insult poor people?

That’s a Machiavellian concept. It also hides the inherent greed of ABS-CBN.

So are they going to get rid of Wowowee and the obnoxious Revillame? Not a chance! It’s easier to ask for the moon.

What ABS-CBN will do is they’ll have Revillame lie low for some time. Then they’ll come up with 30 seconder clips extolling Revillame and/or Wowowee. These will be complete with soft music and highly emotional spiels that are keyed to win the sympathy of their televiewers. ABS-CBN are experts at this.

When all is clear, Revillame will come back. Yet, as sure as the the sun rises everyday, he’ll find himself in trouble again. This is because his arrogance will emerge anew.

Then the cycle will turn again.

Ok so arrogance isn’t a color. Nevertheless it befits Revillame. Last Monday, when the remains of former President Cory Aquino were being brought from La Salle Greenhills to the Manila Cathedral, Revillame complained loudly on live TV why the procession was being televised –albeit in smaller frames– alongside his show. He demanded that the frames be removed which the network did. But that insulted the sensibilities of the Filipinos who were outraged at such disrespect.

Many said that Revillame should have let his program go off the air instead in deference to the most beloved Philippine leader. Still others opined that the least Revillame could have done was complain off air.

But that’s what arrogance does. It makes you speak your mind no matter who’s listening. It makes you think that you’re much higher than anybody else, including the person who was responsible in restoring the very network that hires Revillame.

In his weak apology published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Revillame said that his request to stop the inserted video was really "a sign of love and respect for Tita Cory."

Whaaaattttt????!!!!

Go to youtube.com and search for that video segment, you’ll see that Revillame was always saying, "ako," "ako," "ako." It was not about respect to President Aquino. It was about his being distracted. Personally I suspect that Revillame didn’t like the competition as televiewers would certainly be more interested in watching the events surrounding the death of President Aquino.

Yet, this isn’t just about Revillame’s disrespect for a fallen leader. Revillame has always been arrogant. Look at youtube and see how he insults contestants and guests. Perhaps he feels that he’s a demi-god who can do anything in his show. Perhaps now ABS-CBN will step out of its character of being greedy and finally put a stop to this mendicancy-promoting program and it’s obnoxious host, Willie Revillame.

He’s now advocating that top officials of the PDEA also go on leave after his own prosecutors went on leave. Let’s see now, why should the PDEA officials go on leave? It was the PDEA that busted the so-called "Alabang Boys." It was the PDEA that blew the whistle on bribery attempts. It was the PDEA, particularly Maj. Ferdinand Marcelino, who received a call from justice undersecretary Ricardo Blancaflor following-up on the release of the Alabang Boys, when he’s not even involved whatsoever in the case.

Now let’s see why the prosecutors went on leave? They resolved that the case against the Alabang Boys be dropped without further investigation. Someone gave one of the defense lawyers a blank official letterhead of the DOJ secretary so he could type in a release order that Gonzalez would merely sign. Incidentally, there have been arguments whether this was ethical or not. I want to squash these arguments with one word. Read my lips: D-E-L-I-C-A-D-E-Z-A! And, of course, there’s the meddling of Blancaflor.

Question is, who’s the boss of the prosecutors and Blancaflor?

At present, ask the average Filipino who’s more credible, Gonzalez or Maj. Marcelino?

Conclusion: Raul Gonzalez should go on leave along with his lackeys, not the PDEA officials. Unless he’s gunning to be Top Twerp of the Year. Well, this early in the game, he’s neck and neck with an early front runner: Mayor Nasser Pangandaman, Jr. If you don’t know why, click here.

Now that oil prices are diving, the three –SHELL, PETRON, CALTEX– have been slow to bring down pump prices, declaring that they were still losing money.

Duh …

The three –SHELL, PETRON, CALTEX– should place the sign you see on the right of this article at the entrance of each of their stations all over the Philippines. Because this is in effect what they’re showing to the Filipinos. They really don’t care what Filipinos are going through. Call them whatever you want: unFilipino, unpatriotic, greedy, swapang, thick-faced (makapal ang mukha); they don’t really care.

SHELL, PETRON, CALTEX serve mammon and that’s that!

Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes threatened to have SHELL, PETRON, CALTEX audited. They responded: “Go ahead!” They called his bluff. So, what now, Angie?

SHELL, PETRON, CALTEX know very well they can’t be touched by the government. They’ve been deregulated, remember?

So what every Filipino has left is the hope that SHELL, PETRON, CALTEX will lower their pump prices out of conscience. But do they have one?

What SHELL, PETRON, CALTEX do have is a middle finger. And it’s pointed at you!

The nerve of Peking to chide the Philippines for its corruption scandal that has implicated China’s ZTE. ZTE officials have maintained they have not bribed any Philippine official. Yeah, right. Pontius Pilate must have been Chinese.

China sanctimoniously complains about the "political circus" in the Philippines, yet they violently disperse monks and other citizens of Tibet who merely want freedom from Chinese oppression. Our officials steal but theirs maim and kill.

So it is with satisfaction that we read of mass protests everywhere the Olympic torch is run. Indeed, politics should be kept out of the Olympics, but since the Olympics is a symbol of goodwill and unity among nations, those who host it must be exemplars of world peace. China hardly fits the bill.

Thus, the Olympic torch has come to symbolize Chinese arrogance, because China continues to oppress Tibetans. To applaud China’s hosting of the Olympics is to applaud violence and not goodwill. If they can’t get along with their neighbor, Tibet, why should we get along with China?

When China is holding the Torch, it should be snuffed out!

Apostol suggested to reporters that Filipino-Chinese or popularly known as "Tsinoys," should be deported. This outraged the Tsinoys and text messages swarmed the country about it, so much so that Apostol had to quickly apologize in public.

Serves him right! Yet, Apostol merely revealed the kind of leadership this country has: insensitive, thoughtless and uncaring.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Abalos, in trying to expunge himself from Lozada’s damning testimony, says that 130 million dollars is an incredible figure for a kickback. If he was hearing Lozada correctly, this is the reason why Lozada was sent, to temper his greed. Abalos also questioned why Lozada didn’t seek protection for a year if he (Abalos) truly threatened him.

Question to the ex-chairman: Would you have carried out the threat? Perhaps you’re just unblievable and Lozada dismissed it as nothing. But a threat is a threat and should be mentioned, especially when it comes from a desperately corrupt person who’s facing the prospect of losing millions of dollars.

Abalos was trying to keep a low profile trying to enjoy the Chinese moolah already given him and memories of romps with Sino virgins when Lozada showed up and appeared before the Senate blue-ribbon committee. Now he wants to shut Lozada up with a multi-million libel suit.

Bravo! Gloria Arroyo doesn’t need an opposition to make her look bad. She already has Apostol and Abalos!

Now let’s watch with glee as the other presidential defenders contract foot-in-mouth disease as they try to squelch the truth.
