The Wowowee Comeback
Don't look now but Wowowee is coming back!
To condition the minds of TV viewers, ABS-CBN is going to air a week-long series on how Wowowee has helped people behind the scenes. Expect this to be a "soapy," lachrymose production that is designed to win people's hearts and minds.
Wowowee was a successful money-making venture for ABS-CBN, so it isn't easy just scrapping it altogether. Thus, ABS-CBN is going all-out to making it acceptable in spite of the stampede that killed 70 people.
For sure, the new Wowowee will have a new format, but I doubt it will do away with it's mendicancy-promoting tone. It can't, because that's where the money lies. Watch also Willie Revillame shed more tears. He's had practice.
Revillame will continue to insult contestants, generate a few laughs and then at times engage in tear-jerking acts of kindness. It will be all-around entertainment!
