Gloria the Liar has done it again! In declaring a nationwide State of Emergency, she said that the State was in danger. The truth is, it’s her throne that’s in danger. Her paranoia got the better of her.
Every Filipino, except her allies and Manny Pacquiao, wants her to step down. We are, in fact, trying to protect the State from her.
Her clones …er… lackeys in government like Ignacio Bunyi and Mike Defensor try to assure the country that a state of emergency is really nothing to be alarmed about. Yeah right! The abhorrent Marcos regime said the same thing before Martial Law was proclaimed.
What they fail to mention, however, is that a state of emergency can give the government powers to snatch away our freedom at the bat of an eyelash. Just look at how they whisked away Prof. Randy David when he tried to negotiate with the police for rallyists that were marching towards the Edsa shrine. He was eventually released.
But look again. They arrested Rep. Crispin Beltran this morning under a warrant for inciting rebellion in 1985! All these years the police did nothing and now arrest him under the state of emergency and on a Saturday when he can’t even post bail.
All this plus the cancellation of today’s festivities marking the ouster of a dictator with People Power, the same force that years later removed an immoral President and catapulted Gloria the Liar into Malacañang. She should be thankful and not be arrogant.
So what do we have here? A liar, a cheat and an ingrate who has effectively killed the Spirit of People Power. In its place she resurrected the spirit of Ferdinand Marcos!
