I want to send a wreath to the wake of FPJ. But none of his family knows me. So it would be quite awkward for his family and friends to look at a wreath and ask, “Who’s this guy?”
On the other hand every Filipino and his askal knows Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. She’s the President of the Republic of the Philippines whether she’s suspected of cheating in the last election or not. So protocol demanded she send a wreath to Da King’s wake because FPJ, after all, was a known political leader, pawn or not. Whether GMA was sincere or not in sending the wreath is beside the point. She just had to send one.
So when supporters of Da King destroyed GMA’s wreath, it was mob mentality that was at work. GMA had nothing to do with Poe’s death. If GMA cheated in the election, that too had nothing to do with Poe’s death. So why was there anger?
Some say it was the passion of the moment. Granted. Then lets let it pass. Yet some elements of the opposition want to use this to try to ignite critical mass to oust the present government.
Santa Santita anunsyo de Santa Barbara! Isn’t our country reeling enough from external and internal problems? They lust so much for power that they’ll do anything to grab it, including the use of mob mentality. It’s no wonder Filipinos, especially the masses, have not matured politically. Our politicians have PREMATURE brains.
