Sen. Jamby Madrigal hit the head of the nail dead center when she called Sen. Loren Legarda’s move to run under Sen. Manuel Villar, "political prostitution."

There’s no better epithet by which to call this new "alliance" (or should we call it mutant metamorphosis) between Manny "Wysiswyg" Villar, accused of road anomalies and Loren Legarda, one of his accusers. But this is not new to Legarda.

She was one of those who prosecuted Joseph "Erap" Estrada in his impeachment trial and even openly wept when the controversial envelope was kept sealed by a majority vote in the Senate. Then, when she expressed a desire to run for Vice-president, she courted Estrada’s favor by visiting him in his lavish detention cell several times.

Now she’s the running mate of Villar, whom not too long ago she scathingly attacked during ethics hearing on his involvement in the C-5 road anomaly. She brushes off this inconsistency by comparing it to the tiff Obama had with Hillary Clinton during the primaries. It’s a good comparison because a lot of Americans deemed Clinton a hypocrite.

Legarda oozes with political ambition. Rumors persist to this day that she’ll sleep with anyone to get what she wants (hello, Sen. Angara!). Apparently the phrase, "strange bedfellows," isn’t new to her, politically and otherwise. Perhaps because she’s aware of this, Legarda takes pains to project and even call herself as sincere.

Now she declares that Villar is innocent of the accusations hurled at him. How did she quickly come to this conclusion? Is this a "sincere" evaluation of the facts in hand? Or is this billionaire Manny Villar’s money talking through her?
