It’s official: Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro is the standard bearer for the administration in the 2010 presidential election.
Here’s why we should be wary of him:
1. He came out of nowhere to become the administration’s bet. How did he do it? Three answers: money, money, money. And this is only within his party. Obviously he has the attitude that money can get you anywhere and anything. You want a president like that?
2. He’s a smart lawyer. He’s a bar topnotcher and went to Harvard. This means he’ll know how to get around the law. Look at Mike Arroyo. He isn’t that smart, yet he’s able to get away with alter-ego Jose Pidal. You want another example? Ferdinand Marcos.
3. He’s slick. Too slick, in fact. He dresses smartly and speaks well. He looks like a well-fashioned con-man. I can’t identify with him and I’m sure neither do the millions of other Filipinos. If people can’t identify with their president, perhaps he’s really not for the people.
4. His wife. She’s gorgeous. But she looks too much of a socialite. The last presidential wife who was a socialite wreaked havoc on the Philippine treasury. Guess who she is?
5. He’s spending millions on TV ads. He’s also one of those who’ll claim that these are not campaign but advocacy ads, believing that the majority of Filipinos are stupid and won’t know the difference. He’s like that other con-man, Manny Villar.
6. And last but not the least: He’s the administration bet. Why do you think he looks so confident of winning? Does he know something we don’t know? Perhaps he doesn’t know what we already know, that the administration cheated in the last election and they’ll certainly cheat again. The use of Smartmatic is a smart move. We may be able to watch the polls, but we won’t be able to watch what goes on inside the machines. And if you think that people can’t manipulate computers or machines, you were born yesterday!

sure, but I’d rather focus my frustration on the news that willie r. will be running for office.
him and all those power grabbing celebrities… the new trapo. hahaha
speaking of celebrities, this makes me think about Korina Sanchez and her obviously imeldific delusions. what a fake.
this is the reason why I could not trust Mar, Kiko, Recto, etc.

James,
Maybe Willie Revillame should become senator. Then he can start insulting the other senators, since he’s good at insulting his fellow Filipinos … har har har.

then, what would happen now to our gov? who should we elect pres? actually,it is the people’s fault, why they chose to elect politicians who are corrupt just because they gave them money.which they cud spend 4 just minutes, while they will suffer for 3-6 yrs….
still… the questions is, who would then we elect? though, who ever may sit in those position filipinos will still tumble down if they will not get rid of their bad mentalities

@fescor & like
who do we elect? it now seems like a battle between makoy and cory all over again w/ the dictator’s children buying their way back into power by backing erap, villar, gibo (through his relative danding!), etc.
who do we elect? the least evil seems like ab-noynoy. but what’s he done to prove his worth? his father was brilliant! but he’s just a showbiz magnet.
If only Raul Roco were alive. But then again, it won’t be our dear Philippines coz we always gotta do things the hard way. hahaha.
and w/ ab-noynoy, we’ll get even more showbiz into politics. more future eraps in the making, all hoping to get their immoral way of life justified.
hayden kho? wala yun. all of them are into what he does. the only difference is that he’s not running for office… yet.
we’re screwed sideways any way you look at it. but at the very least, we should RESIST the descendants of Marcos from regaining power.
arroyo sucks, she and all of her allies and family really does suck, but MARCOS is the real enemy. walang sinabi yung sila amanpatuan sa kanila.
stupid political dynasties.
cge, thanks ulit dudes
